Born in Fort Worth, Texas on the 28th December 1956, and now living in Hurst Texas, archetypal Texas blues guitarist Buddy Whittington has been part of the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene since he was 14!
Having spent two decades playing in some of the very best Texas outfits, Buddy stepped out in the early 80's, with hugely popular The Sidemen who became known for their down home grooves.
In 1993 John Mayall asked Buddy to join to replace Coco Montoya in The Blues Breakers
He brought a powerful new dimension to the Blues Breakers' sound on 9 albums: Spinning Coin, Blues For The Lost Days, Padlock On The Blues, Along For The Ride, UK Tour 2K, No Days Off, Stories, 70th Birthday Concert and Road Dogs.
"It's that Les Paul-through-a-Marshall-tone that Eric refined in '66--it can't be topped! And although I play a Stratocaster through a Dr. Z amp onstage these days, it's that perfect Gibson/Marshall 'thang' that we're all striving for!", muses Whittington.
2007 sees the long awaited debut album by Buddy Whittington as a master of his craft hits the road to Europe to play the very best in rocking blues!
