Curved Air, the groundbreaking British progressive rock band feature
original members Sonja Kristina on vocals, Florian
Pilkington-Miksa on drums, electric violin wizard Paul Sax,
Kit Morgan (Jethro Tull) on gtr & Rob Martin
on bass.
The band made a successful come back at the Glastonbury and Isle of Wight Festivals,
and more recently triumphed at the High Voltage. They remain a unique and powerful
combination of a remarkable female vocalist and virtuoso musicians. Each member
is an innovative artist who continue to inspire a new generation with their
renowned live performances... and classic favourites like 'Back Street Luv',
'It happened Today', 'Vivaldi', 'Marie Antoinette', 'Phantasmagoria' and 'Everdance'
Curved Air originally formed in 1969. A groundbreaking progressive art-rock band renowned for their showmanship, each member pushed the boundaries of possibilities for rock music performance. Darryl Way with his flamboyant virtuoso exploration of electric violin, Francis Monkman with his brilliant innovative sound manipulation using the VCS3 synthesiser, keyboards and fiery intricate guitar playing and Florian's expressive approach to rock drumming.
Vocalist Sonja Kristina won the hearts of a generation of music lovers and was voted top British Female Vocalist of the 70's whilst the three top twenty albums that this lineup released are regarded as classics.
The original 'Rock Chick' Sonja Kristina's extravagant and flamboyant stage presence led to her being nicknamed at one point, 'the female Jagger'. The first female lead singer of a rock band in the UK, she blazed the way for bold rock icons from Siouxie Sue to Amy Winehouse. Stewart Copeland of The Police was Sonja's partner for 16 years until 1991. She has recorded and toured with her own bands of 'Acid Folk' musicians releasing four solo albums.

Sonja Kristina's latest recordings as "MASK" are collaborations with
Marvin Ayres, the respected left-field composer and Cellist .They are releasing
their second CD "Technopia" in October 2009 on Repertoire Records.
