Devon Allman's Honeytribe

Guitarist and superb vocalist Devon Allman is the son of Greg Allman who has over the last 6 years been building his own reputation with a killer road band Honeytribe. Now comes the first London show on the back of his debut album ‘Torch’ on Provogue records - home to Joe Bonamassa. In fact Joe plays on one track on the album, testament to the high regard in which Devon is held.
Devon Allman’s Honeytribe is the epitome of the Southern Rock “jam” band. Devon who has a vocal style heavily reminiscent of his father Gregg Allman has been honing his skills since his early teens.
The original line-up of Honeytribe was formed in 1999, but really hit the road in 2005 with a collection of A-list musicians from mid-west America. Honeytribe comprises Mark Oyarzabal on drums, George Potsos, a giant presence on stage, on bass and Jack Kirkner (former member of the highly popular Grateful Dead cover band The Schwag) on Hammond B3 organ and piano. Multi-instrumentalist Pedro Arevalo (Dickey Betts & Great Southern) is currently a touring member of the band, whose chemistry and inarguable talent make for a rock-n-roll juggernaut that is coming to Europe!
Devon’s emotive vocals were the featured on three tracks on ‘Love Union Peace’ album by The Vargas Blues Band, which included the Spanish top 3 smash “How Verso Are You?,”. The video similarly became a hit on MTV Europe.
Allman returned to the U.S. to record Honeytribe’s debut album debut, ‘Torch’. Recorded at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN, the album was co-produced by Devon and Pete Matthews (Paul Simon, N. Mississippi All Stars). The 10 original tracks are supplemented by a classic Bob Marley cover “No Woman, No Cry,” and the CD has already received great reviews and features in Guitar Player, Guitar World, Guitar One, No Depression, Blues Revue, Get Ready to Rock etc
But in the true Allman Brothers tradition, Honeytribe are a road band who have built up a loyal following and since October of 2005, they have played close to 300 shows a year, playing with everyone from Gov’t Mule, Tesla, Little Feat, to Cheap Trick, and of course, The Allman Brothers Band, and have also jammed with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top
In February of 2007, Devon appeared on ‘A Song for My Father’, on which he contributed a stellar cover of "Midnight Rider." Now comes his UK debut on the back of the Honeytribe ‘Torch’ album. Sparks should fly!!

GUITAR TECHNIQUES “Honeytribe seem to carry the DNA of the Allman Brothers’sound whilst bringing it bang up to date. Devon shows how good a guitar player he has become. An enjoyable album – try to see them live!

BLUESROCKERS "‘Torch’ is an aptly title album, referring as much to the gloriously bluesy retro feel of the music as to the next generation of the talented Allman clan"

GET READY TO ROCK "‘Torch’ is an aptly title album, referring as much to the gloriously bluesy retro feel of the music as to the next generation of the talented Allman clan". ****
