‘The Story of the Hot Rods is one to warm the hearts of those who still believe in the essential simplicity and drive of rock music...’ - Chris Welsh Melody Maker
Eddie & The Hot Rods started out as four school friends
from a small village in Essex called Rochford and signed to The Island Record
Company in 1976. They quickly established themselves as one of the best live
bands around. Between 1976 and 1979 the band had 4 Top Forty hit singles and
1 Top Ten hit, that song was “Do Anything You Wanna Do”, which still
gets regular airplay. They have been voted one of the Top 50 most influential
bands of all time in Mojo Magazine.
In the year 2000, with a new line up alongside the original Barry Masters, they were asked to take part in a 76 date Tour alongside Dr Feelgood, John Otway and The Hamsters. Since then the band have recorded another two studio albums, 2 live albums and continue to tour all over the world.
Back from their coast to coast USA tour show the godfathers of high voltage rock & roll and punk inspired R&B return with a brand new DVD. Watch them on the link below:

‘The Power & The Glory’, ‘The Kids Are All Right’,

Eddie & The Hot Rods were also recently featured in a recent BBC TV programme tracing the main influences of punk rock and Southend’s famous sons remain one of the few bands from original pub rock circuit to attain international recognition.
The band still features original front man Barry Masters as well as guitarist Chris Taylor, Otway guitarist Richard Holgarth -who joined for the current CD ‘Better Late Than Never’ - long term bass player ‘Dipster’ and the explosive Simon Bowley on drums, all brilliantly captured on the aptly titled debut DVD "Been There, Done That...".
