The
closest British exponent (although he lives in Germany) of the art of Blues
guitar a la Peter Green, Mick Pini is a contemporary of the Mike Vernon school
of Blues.
His album "Watch Yourself" combines deep toned notes, a rich vocal style, and of course some some blistering guitar volleys from the man they used to call "Wildman" Pini.
With a touch of Latino in his playing, which no doubt alludes to his Italian ancestory, the Mick Pini band are classy, dreamy guitar led blues rock in the finest tradition.
Relying on tone and dynamics rather than a million notes a minute, Pini was discovered over a decade ago by Mike Vernon, and has since cut 4 excellent albums, that have put him in the forefront of European blues guitarists.
