Nine Below Zero, the UK's leading R&B band.
Ostensibly promoting their brand new album "Hat's Off" - a tribute to the band's heroes - Nine Below Zero have been busy taking their unique brand of R&B around the world, literally! Apart from the usual Euro jaunts and two US tours the band broke new ground when they teamed up with the British Council to tour Bangladesh, and played to an estimated quarter of a million people.
A CD EP "One Floor in Heaven, One Foot in Hell" was also released with alternative mixes in Hindi and Punjabi. Back home the band have welcomed back their star harp player Mark Feltham (Oasis/Sting/Rory Gallagher), who takes his place alongside band founder member Dennis Greaves, and the former Rory Gallagher rhythm section of Gerry McAvoy and Brendan O'Neill.
Nine Below Zero were in fact the last British R&B band to sell out the Hammersmith Odeon, back in the days of their appearances on TV's "The Young Ones" and "The Old Grey Whistle Test". The latter appearance has been re-issued on the recent best selling compilation DVD. And 25 years on, the band have matured into being the leading outfit of their genre.
